The pollution/ Environment related issues have
assumed great importance now a day. With increased awareness and
social pressure it has become mandatory for every unit to follow
pollution /environment norms. Eco-friendly products have better
acceptance throughout the world.
The government has formulated a comprehensive policy statement
for abatement of pollution, which lays stress on the prevention
and control of pollution in Industry sector as under:
1. Industries advised to adopt waste minimisation techniques and
cleaner production processes.
2. Industry specific effluent standards notified under the
environment (Protection) Act.
3. Grossly polluting industries discharging their effluents into
the water directed to provide / upgrade effluent treatment
plants.
